Parents Night Celebration 2007
We started to prepare for this night few months ago. Meetings, publicity, invitation etc. Our theme is "爱我们的家 Love My Family". When we came to church for preparation around 3pm on the event day, the sky show the sign of raining. We grouped up, hold hands and pray for good weather. We really need it because we have family outdoor games God really listen to our prayer! His defination of good weather is different from us. We prayed for no rain but God's offered us heavy rain. It started to rain around 6pm. Elders, brothers and sisters started gathering at church around 730pm, however the rain became heavier and show no sign to stop. Some of us even trapped in the car when we reached at church. But the heavy rain could not stop our warm heart to honour our parents and elders.
The celebration started with P&W around 8:15pm, followed by short sermon by Rev. Chin. Children choir from
Sunday School presented a song "小小的梦想 Little Dream". After that was a 10 minutes open session to the congregation whoever want to come out for a few words. We also give away souvenirs to our church elders and cake cutting ceremony. After blessing by Pastor Tay, we start the family outdoor games. You may ask "it's heavy rain out there, how are you going to play?" --Ha...ha... This is the miracle we witnessed that night -- our mighty awosome God stopped the rain around 8:45pm. Right on time for us to carry on our program without any disturbance. PRAISE THE LORD !!!
We had a lot of fun for this outdoor station games. Although the task we have to do is simple but the more important thing is the bond and relationship of love to the families that took part. The games ended at 10:15pm. After that we have some refreshment and announcement of result.
